The Entrance Hall to 'Le Château'

Good morning Everyone,

Hope you are all well and that you had a great weekend. I have been busy like always. Finally I got to work on the entrance of 'Le Château'.

The original kit came with an open entrance to the left which I didn't like so I added a wall and fitted a double french door. 

I chose a french green style wall paper which will cover the hallway and added marbled floor tiles. 

Once the wallpaper was done, I started working on the staircase at the entrance. 

I really like the railings of the staircase which are painted and stained.

I printed one of my own ceiling roses and I wanted it to match the colouring of the wallpaper.  I have to say I am very pleased with it.

Little Lotti - Bisque jointed Doll

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all well. I have been quite busy lately and I can't wait to share with you the progress on my dolls house project. Hopefully I will be sharing some of it's progress early next week. Before I start I wanted to welcome the new followers to my blog.

I wanted to share with you the new addition that I am very happy to have. A new doll arrived to My Miniature World. Her name is Lotti. 

Well she is not 'new' and I think she is one of the oldest dolls that I have.  Lotti is a Hertwig Bisque doll, made in Germany and she's from the early 1900's.

Lotti is a jointed doll and she stands 10 cm tall.

For some reason I was drawn to the strange little doll. For now she will roam around in my dolls houses that she feels comfortable in. Her first choice was the Tudor Manor but I already have a house in mind that will suit her much better. 

I hope that she will be happy here at My Miniature World. What do you think?

A Rare Piece for my DHE Miniature Museum

Hello Everyone,

Hope you and your loved ones are all well. Just popped in very quickly as I wanted to share with you my latest miniature addition that I found while browsing the net. 

A few of you know that I'm quite the Dolls House Emporium collector and have been for as long as I remember since I started the hobby.

When I come across one of those vintage and rare pieces I get quite excited about it. It's nothing special but to me it's like adding another jewel to the crown. 

Miniature Pembroke Grange

In the past, the Dolls House Emporium used to produce a tiny version of their own dolls house models which were made from resin. A couple of weeks ago I came across the tiny Pembroke Grange and finally it arrived. 

Considering that my latest project was Pembroke Grange, I find it extra special that I found it now. 

Now it stands proudly next to the miniature Queen Ann's Dollshouse in my Dolls House Emporium Miniature Museum. 

I know that I am missing one or two of these, but you'll never know if I will come across them in the future.

Finishing the outside of 'Le Château'

Hello everyone,

Here I am once again. Hope you are all well. I am very happy to tell you that I have completed the outside of my new project 'Le Château'. 

After finishing the roof, it was time to move on to the facade of the building.  I wanted to make a few changes for the facade. 

The first thing that I wanted to change was the three plastic balconies that came with the kit. I didn't like the idea of having plastic on the outside. So I had them costumed made with a laser cutter. 

Another alteration that I wanted to change, was the front door. I didn't like muntins of the door, as it didn't match the other doors. So I went for a different design and made the main door stand out a bit more. 

I was happy how the new balconies and the door fitted nicely in place. 

I was still not happy with the side doors next to the main door as they looked to bare to me. Technically the kit had an optional basement to add on. I personally didn't like it very much but if I did add the basement the two side doors would have had a balcony like the ones on the first floor. 

I did some online research of original French style houses to inspire me and I came up with the idea of adding my own balconies with the same design of the other ones above them, only less deeper as they are on street level.

Finally I got to weather slightly the whole building. I didn't want to over due it with the weathering but made it look realistic and appealing to the eye.

I hope you like how it turned out. Now I am looking forward to start working on the inside of the house. Quite excited about it too!
