Delf Blue and Vermeer

 Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all well. As the Dolls House Nederland Show is a week away, the excitement is growing more and the last few bits and pieces are almost done.

The books 'Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House' are already packed and most of the miniatures are set.

One miniature that I have very close to my heart and that I have just finished a couple of days ago is a miniature bust of The Girl with a Pearl Earring Bust.

As you all know Delft in The Netherlands has always been my favourite city. I love the architecture, the buildings, the history and it's Arts. I love the Delft Blue the most and so much so I had made a room box of this back in March 2023 and was featured with an article and front cover on the Dolls' House Nederland Magazine.

Considering everything, such as Dollshous Nederland, Delft blue, the city of Delft and it's arts, Vermeer comes to mind, and one of my favourite paintings would be the Girl with a Pearl Earring. So here is the miniature Bust of the girl painted in Delf blue colours.  It's like I combined the few aspects that I love in this miniature just in time before the Show. I made just a few busts of her which will also be available during the launch on my stand at the DHN Show on the 5th and 6th October 2024.

I think she turned out very well and I have added her to my room box to mark the special occasion of the launch.

So this is all for today. I hope you like her as much as I have. Make sure to keep tuned for the next updates and latest news.

Take Care and See you Soon.

Hugs,

Release and 1st Launch of 'Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House'.

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are well and that you are enjoying your weekend. Today I have some great news to share with you about my book, 'Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House '.

Finally on the 17th September 2024 the book had been officially released.

It was a very close call. It was supposed to be released by 4th September 2024 but there was some delay at the Southampton Port which also meant a delay for the books to be shipped to me for the first launch. It was a nightmare. I want to thank Sharron Mitchell from The Crowood Press that did everything should could to have the book ship in time before the first launch.

Last Friday I started to breathe again,  when the batch of books arrived safe and sound to be taken with me to the Netherlands for the first launch.

Less than two weeks I will be traveling with my entourage to the Netherlands for the very first launch which will be held at the Dollshous Nederland Show in Hotel Papendal, Arnhem on 5th and 6th October 2024.

I am very excited as there is still so much to do and prepare for before I leave. My stand will be set at F08 as you can see and I will be there signing books. A special gift will be given with every book purchase which is a limited edition. A miniature version of the book with pictures of No 44 Mornington House.

Also there will be a few unique designed hand painted miniature accessories available on my stand. Still working on a few new ones. To be fair it was a last minute decision to add a few miniatures and to be honest it was a plan B just in case the release date of the book was delayed further. However I have a few nice miniatures which are limited in quantity so once they are gone they are gone and I am sure you will love them just the same.

I hope I get to see a few of you. Make sure to stop by and say hello. For those who are interested to purchase the book send me an email to myminiatureworld.mt@gmail.com to reserve your copy. I remind you that the quantities of the book is limited during the launch and I hate for you to be disappointed.

For those who want to visit and make a weekend out of it you can visit Dollshouse Nederland Show website.

This is all for today. Make sure to keep tuned for the latest news and updates.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,

Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House - Published on DollsHouse Nederland Magazine.

 Hello everyone,

How are you all? I hope you are having a great weekend. It has been a while since my last post. I am working night and day on lots of miniatures for the upcoming DollsHouse Nederland Show to be held in Hotel Papendal, Arnhem in The Netherlands between the 5th and 6th October 2024. There I will also be having my first book launch. I am really excited about it as it is the first time that I will be there as a participant and not as a visitor.

Speaking of which, 'Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House' has just been featured with an article on the latest issue of the Dolls House Nederland Magazine.

It is an honour to have my book featured on the DHN Magazine and from here I would like to thank Rika van Nellestijn that has given me the opportunity to launch my new book 'Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House' at the DHN Show and to feature me in the magazine.

The article is in Dutch where you can find it by clicking Here! For those who don't know the language, here is a translated version of it in English 'Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House by Rebecca Micallef

For those who would love to attend and get the tickets for the Nederland Dolls House show you can visit their website here DHNShow 2024

I also have some good news for those who will be attending the Dolls House Nederland Show between the 5th and 6th October 2024 at Hotel Papendal, Arnhem in The Netherlands. With each signed copy of the book 'Designing and Decorating a Period Dolls' House' a miniature version of the book will be given. The miniature version has pictures of the rooms of 'No 44, Mornington House'. This miniature book will be only offered during this launch. As the numbers of books are quite limited, you can reserve a copy of the book by sending me an email to myminiatureworld.mt@gmail.com and you can pick it up during the show.

So this is all for today. Bare with me folks, at the moment I am just all over the place. In three weeks I will be travelling to the Netherlands for the first launch and being a perfectionist, I have literally thrown myself into the preparations for this show. I will be back on track posting regularly as usual. I can't wait to calm down and focus more on my new dollshouse project. Make sure to keep tuned for the latest news and updates.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,
