The Pumpkin Head Doll

Hello everyone,

Hope you are having a good week. The weather is getting warmer everyday. Thank goodness that our hobby keeps us busy. I am working on the last touches of Pembroke Grange and I'm also preparing to start the new project.

Today I will be sharing with you something different which is very special to me. Last December I had gotten myself this antique pretty doll which is known and the pumpkin head doll. While being in The Netherlands last March I got to pick her from a dear friend who kept her safe for a few months until I collected her.

Pumpkin Head Doll
I called the Pumpkin Head doll 'Queenie'. I think it suits her. She stands 21 cm tall. Her legs and arms are carved wood and painted. Her head with a molded Alice hair style is made out of paper mache, hand painted and covered with a thin layer of wax. Her eyes are made out of glass.  'Pumpkin Head' or 'Squash Head' dolls have inherited their title due to their head shape, as it does look like a pumpkin. She goes way back from the early 1800's and still has her original pretty dress and undergarments.

I have to say that I am very proud to have her and for her age she is still in a very good condition. Here are some photos of Queenie.

The antique bespoke handmade dressing table that stands proudly behind her is another piece that I am quite happy to have. It was shown in the Grand Prix Paris in 1909. Inside the dressing table it is stamped 'M.E. Notaras' and two royal stamp marks with 'To HM the King of The Hellenes and their Royal Highness the Prince and Princess'. It stands 17 cm high which makes it much bigger than a 1:12 scale furniture.

Now Queenie stands proudly in my pretty sitting room.

This is all for today. Make sure to keep tuned for the next updates.

The Drawing Room in Pembroke Grange

Hello Everyone,

Hope you and your loved ones are well and keeping safe. Living this new life in isolation does have its benefits especially when one can spare more time working on miniatures and dolls houses.

Finally I got to finish the last room in Pembroke Grange which is the Drawing Room.

The Drawing Room
The Drawing Room is the simplest of rooms which I left for last to decorate. One of my favorite furniture pieces that I added is the pianoforte.

I have changed the upholster for the sofa and arm chair with a warmer color. I just didn't like the silky cream fabric that they had.

I printed another carpet using the velvet textured paper and I have to say, this is one of my favorites that I made.

I have decorated the walls with a few printed canvases and  framed them with my 3D printed frames.

The wall shelves have been decorated with a few of my father's hand painted miniature figurines and with a other accessories.

I made a pair of  vases to put on the mantel piece of the fire place and also added a wall mirror which is another lovely piece that my father painted for me.

The small table in the center was decorated with a teapot, teacups, pastries and books. Miss Elizabeth Bennett and Miss Jane Austen enjoy sharing poem verses and literature during tea time.

Here are few more pictures of the complete drawing room.

I hope you like the decorated drawing room. It's simple and cosy, I suppose. My typical room.

Pembroke Grange is at its finally stages. Still need to decorate the staircase and make curtains so make sure to keep tuned for the next and last update on Pembroke Grange.

Spring Time! - The Conservatory at Pembroke Grange

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend and that you are keeping safe. The weather here is getting warmer and warmer. Spring time always gives me that extra boost to work more on my miniatures. During this weekend I got to add more to the Conservatory at Pembroke Grange.

As much as I loved the conservatory I knew that a few more additions still needed to be added. The conservatory needed more greenery and flowers. The glass windowed walls looked too bare. So I decided to make a tree using copper wire and floral tape.

Once the tree was ready I added the tiny flowers and leaves and planted in a big planter.

The bunny floral planter also found its place in the conservatory.

Here are a few pictures of how the conservatory looks like with the new additions.

I am very happy with it now even though there is a good chance that a few more flowers will be added.

This is all for today. I will be sharing with you a new update on Pembroke Grange's Drawing Room very soon, so make sure to keep tuned.

Easter Greetings!

Good morning Everyone,

Today is Easter! Hope you are all well and safe and that you are enjoying your Easter Day. I know it's a different kind of Easter considering the circumstances that the World is facing but nevertheless we try to do the best we can to make it special. No matter what, the Easter Bunny still made his rounds and the kids are quite happy.

Today I wanted to share with you a few Easter Miniatures that I made.

Yesterday I got to work a bit with my 3D printer where I made chocolate Easter Bunnies in different positions and sizes. I am quite happy how they turned out.

I also printed a bunny planter and made my own miniature paper flowers.Totally love this one.

I also got to frame one of these Victorian Easter Postcard prints with a frame that I painted to  match.

Quite pleased with the tiny scene. Maybe in the future I should work on an Easter themed project.

From here I would like to wish a Happy Easter to you and your loved ones.

Posy also sends you her best wishes from her own Blog Posy The Tiny Bear

Make sure to keep tuned for the next updates on Pembroke Grange.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Be Safe!

Tudor Manor makes it in Print!

Hello Everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend. I know at the moment we are going through a rough time and most of us have to stay indoors to keep safe. Thank goodness dolls houses and miniatures keep me sane and busy.

I am very excited to share with you that The Tudor Manor has made it in Print on the latest issue of the Dolls House World Magazine.

The Tudor Manor
The Tudor Manor is very precious to me. It is the oldest dolls house that I have in my Dolls House Emporium Collection. Considering that is was built in 1979 by the founders themselves it is still in a very good condition.

A big thank you goes to Sandra Harding for giving me the opportunity to share the Tudor Manor on this magazine.  For those who are interested they can go to the link and read the article Rare find was actually Built by the Founders.

Here are some new photos of the Tudor Manor.

Hope you like the new set of photos of the Tudor Manor.

This is all for today. I will be sharing with you very soon more of my progress on Pembroke Grange so make sure to keep tuned.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Be Safe,
