Some more progress on Santa's Work Shop!

Hello Everyone,

It's been a few days since I posted anything. I hope that you are all well. I have been busy like usual. Matthias and Raquel seem to be settled down at school and Leah is demanding like any other baby but I mustn't complain as on the whole she is a good baby. I have realized that it is not easy keeping up with my miniatures while being a full time mummy of three, but I try hard to squeeze in a little time for myself.

I also wanted to welcome three new followers; my dear friend Sally, New Dawn Creations and Joseph. WELCOME! It is very encouraging when you realize that it has been a year since I started this blog and I have 43 followers. I want to thank you all and I really appreciate it.

Today I am going to share with you some more progress on Santa's Work Shop. As you can see I have built the structure and gave the walls an undercoat. Then I started the flooring. I used lolly pop sticks for the floor to make it look like parquet. After paneling the floor I smudged some Christmas green paint on the floor and then I varnished it with walnut stain. The effect really came out nice.

Finished floor.
After finishing the flooring I started wallpapering the walls and I also did some wood paneling around. I have also used the same effect on the wall wood paneling as the floor. Then I started the work on the stair case. The stair case was a headache. The original staircase wasted most of the area of the room and also ate too much ceiling which is the flooring of the upper floor. So I completely changed it. I have also  extending the ceiling and  by that I closed  most of the huge staircase opening which was not needed.

Underneath the stair case there is a small kennel which will be occupied by a fluffy friend and the larger opening  will be have shelves filled with toys. I still have to add the shelves and the handrail. But I am really happy with the results.

I hope you like what I have done so far. I have started working on the upper floor. So please keep tuned for more.

Wishing you all a very happy weekend.

Take Care,

Rebecca

Polymer Clay - Desk Sets!

Hello Everyone,

I am so sorry for not posting earlier. I was so busy in the past week that I didn't have any time to do any miniatures or progress on my new project. Sometimes the everyday life just doesn't give you time for yourself.

I would like to welcome a new follower to my Blog. Welcome Jody.

Today I will share with two desk sets that I did with Polymer Clay. One of them is going for Santa's desk. I am really pleased with the out come. For this particular desk I have used a small feather for a quill, then I made the ink pot and stand, the blotter, paper knife, 2 books and a frame. Then I added envelopes, letters, cards and writing pad which I printed. Eventually the oil lamp will be lit up. Probably I will still be adding some more accessories to the set up.

The second desk set is a bit bigger. The ink tray holds two ink bottles a quill and the paper knife. I also did a blotter.  The ink bottles are made out of two crystal beads. This set went in my Toll House.

I hope you liked my two desk sets. I have been working on the flooring of Santa's workshop and I am really happy with the outcome. I will show it to you when the room is done so please keep tuned. I promise that I will post very soon.

Take Care
