Adding the Last Pieces to the Fairy Tale Magical Mystery Tower.

Hello my dear Friends,

I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend. Today I will be sharing with you the last few added miniatures to the tower which completes both the rooms. I still can't believe that this project is drawing close to the end. I still have to decorate the outside surrounding. I am even preparing for my next new project. I also wanted to welcome three new blog followers; Danielle, Hannelore and Jennifer. WELCOME!

Today I wanted to share with you the complete rooms of the tower. Firstly I wanted to start with the Princess's Room. The princess that I chose for this lovely room is Rapunzel. I think Rapunzel was ideal for this room as there was no entrance leading to this room except for the window. So I had bought a Dolls House Emporium Doll called Rapunzel only that I was slightly disappointed with the length of her hair. Her hair wasn't long at all and so I have made an extension made out of wool to match her hair and plaited it. I have surrounded most of the room with her hair which made it look even better.

I have also added a few more miniatures to this room. I have managed to make a round carpet made out of wool which fitted in perfectly.

I also made a new polymer clay miniature which took me a few days to complete. I have manged to do Rapunzel's Paint box which is featured in Disney's motion picture 'Tangled'. I am very happy how it turned out. The paint brushes are made out of tooth picks.

All items are made with polymer clay except for the paint brushes.

With these additions I have completed the princess's room and this is how it looks.

Then comes the Witch's Den. Another room which I have completed successfully. For this room I choose a hag to fit in  as the Witch while making the poisoned apple featured in Disney's motion picture 'Snow White'. I am actually very happy with my doll as she fitted in perfectly. I have placed her brewing the Poisoned Apple spell and I just love it.

I added a few more potion bottles and scrolls to the shelves and then I have realised that the room was too clean. As I have made a couple of spiders, it was a good idea to add some cobwebs here and there.

And this makes the room complete and here are some pictures how it is. I am really happy with the out come.

It always amazes me when I almost complete a project. After months of work and adding to the project that I almost feel sad when it comes to an end. I have really enjoyed making this particular project especially when you have two complete different rooms. You can see the difference between bright and dark, good and bad.

In this coming week I will be adding some additions to the outside of the tower. I hope you have liked what I have done so far.

I also wanted to remind you that only a few days remain. Visit 'My Miniature World Shop' at Etsy. Reduced Prices on all miniature items till the end of May.

Please do keep tuned for the last update of the Fairy Tale Magical Mystery Tower.

The Book of Fairytale Spells!

Hello everyone,

I have almost finished my Fairytale Magical Mystery Tower. Just need to add the last bits and pieces which I will be sharing with you very soon.  So at the end of a project I will be making a small tutorial on a miniature that I would have made. Today I will be sharing with you how to make the 'Book of Fairytale Spells'. This book has been totally made by me with spells and quotes from different Disney's fairytales. There are spells and quotes from Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Tangled and Cinderella.

The Fairytale Spell Book

To make this book you need:

1. To print the book sheet by pressing on this link The Book of Fairytale Spells Sheet
2. Card board (even from a cereal box)
3. Wide Masking tape
4. Glue stick
5. Scissors
6. A small piece of black ribbon (approx 3 mm wide)
7. Brown or Red and gold acrylic paints
8. paint brushes (which one has to have a fine point)

Step 1

After printing your fairytale book sheet, cut out the book covers from a piece of card board. Use the templates from the sheet. Place them close together with a 1 mm space in this order; front cover, book spine and back cover on a piece of masking tape. After cutting off the corners of the masking tape, bend the tape neatly onto the other side.

Step 2

After bending the book at the edges paint the masking tape (outside cover and even the inside) in which colour you want to choose for the book. I have used a mixture between brown and red to give it a leather look. The masking tape will also help to give the book this effect. Let the cover dry out properly.

Step 3

Cut out the strip of book pages and fold them. Glue the end of the first strip with the beginning of the second strip. After this step you will notice that you have the pair of brown inner cover pages at the end of the now long strip. Make sure that each page has been folded evenly. Then you can glue the back of each folded page. Press the folds tightly as much as possible.

Step 4

Cut out a small piece of masking tape and place it over the spine of the pages. This will help to keep the pages tight together and it will be easier for you to stick the pages to the cover. Also before adding the masking tape you can add the piece of ribbon at the spine of the book from the top part. This will be the book mark of the book.

Step 5

Use the glue stick to glue the inner brown cover pages to the inside of the cover book. Make sure that the pages are lined in properly with the cover. Sometimes it is even better to position the pages with the book closed.

Step 6

Find the center pages and position the book mark in the center. Cut out the extra length of the ribbon at an angle.

Step 7

Stick the title of the book on the cover and let it dry.

With a fine paint brush and some golden paint you can decorate the cover of your spell book the way you want.

And finally this is what you will be having.

I hope that you will find the tutorial helpful. Also please note that this book can only be made for personal use

If you have any difficulties or would like to ask questions about how to make this book please don't hesitate to email me.

I have also updated this book by adding a ready made cover. You will be having both the options when downloading the sheet.

The New Book Cover

You only have to cut the cover template from a piece of cardboard and the cover

Then you just bend the edges around the cardboard template. Then you can continue off from step 3.

I also wanted to let you know that for the month of MAY ONLY you will find ALL my items with REDUCED PRICES. So please do visit my shop My Miniature World Shop to get a bargain.

I will be posting my last updates on The Fairytale Magical Mystery Tower very soon so please do keep tuned.

Adding the Miniatures to the Witch's Den - Fairy Tale Magical Mystery Tower

Hello everyone,

The weather here in Malta is getting warmer and warmer and in a few weeks the children will start their summer holidays. Can't wait to spend the days with them. Have worked some more on the Fairy Tale tower especially in the Witch's Den. I am trying really hard to capture the scenes that I want. Have also made some new miniatures. I also want to welcome a new follower to my blog Joanne Spencer. WELCOME!

So as you know the Witch's Den is mostly based on Disney's motion picture Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Have seen this movie as long as I remember and well I know it by heart. To make this project I still went back to it for reference just to capture what I wanted. It is not easy as it is based in a dungeon and my little tower is far from a dungeon.

So firstly I have added more miniatures to add to my shelving and in the right places like the fire place, shelf and table. All items have been done by me with polymer clay and the glass canisters have been filled with clay minis and  polymer clay liquid.

I have worked mostly on the table to capture certain scenes from Snow White. I have found a blue empty glass which fitted in perfectly and managed to make it look bubbly and foamy. It's not perfect but I like it.

Transformation of the queen in Snow White
I have also made another Spell book with quotes and spells from various motion Disney's Motion Pictures; such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Tangled and Cinderella. I love how the book turned out and it's definitely something that I will hold on to. I have opened it on the Poisoned apple spell and the Peddler's Disguise Spell which both are featured in Snow White.

And here is how the table is looking so far. I still need to add my witch at work but haven't found the right one so far.

My Witch's Work Table, All the miniatures have been done by me.
I am really pleased how it turned out. Here are some pictures how it is looking so far in the tower. I am really happy with it. Raquel really loves it. From the two rooms even if it is darker than the princess' room I am proud to say that it is my favorite.  It reminds me so much of my child hood watching Snow White and the miniatures that I made are probably the pictures that have made quite an impression on me at the time when I was still a child.

I hope you all like it. I guess most of this room now is ready. I don't think there is much to add except for the witch. I have tried to capture the most important facts of the story.

Also I wanted to let you know that I have added some new Hand painted miniatures and some new spooky polymer clay minis in my Etsy shop. Please do have a look. My Miniature World Shop at Etsy.
