4th Day of Christmas - Visiting Miss Leah's Boutique

 Hello Everyone,

"On The Twelve Days of Christmas, Miss Holly will be visiting Regent Street to bring joy and wonder during the magical time of Christmas. "

Miss Holly today was really excited. Today she was visiting Miss Leah at her Boutique. The ladies have been friends since they were little girls. Holly was two years her senior and spent most of their time together. Growing up, both the girls were thought by Madam De France how to design and sew gowns and clothing. Years passed and young Leah had left for Regent Street to join her siblings in the family business. Holly missed her best friend dearly and after a couple of years she moved also to Regent Street.

Holly prepared something special for Leah. When they were younger they had designed a bonnet together but it never materialized. So Holly spend the night before working the magic to make this special bonnet for Leah. 

It was getting late in the evening and Miss Holly made her way to the boutique. Miss Leah's Boutique still had a client or two which was not surprising considering the lovely gowns and lady's accessories that it offered. The second Holly stepped into the shop she was greeted by her dearest friend with a smile and a warm hug. Both the ladies were very happy to see each other.

Once the last client left the shop, Leah closed the boutique for the day so she could spend some time with her dear friend. Holly handed over a hat box to Leah and with an exciting smile she asked her dear friend to open it. 

Leah was very curious to see what was in the hat box and once opened, so very unexpected, she found the beautiful Christmas Bonnet that was once designed by both of them.

Miss Leah recognized it immediately. It brought tears to her eyes. Miss Holly had done such an amazing job on the bonnet. She fetched a hat stand so she could display the masterpiece on her counter. She couldn't be more proud of Holly and thanked her for such a lovely gift. 

 

Holly was so happy that Leah loved it. It looked wonderful on the shop counter. The red Christmas bonnet did the trick and gave the shop a touch of Christmas. 

The ladies spent the evening in each other's company at the boutique, going through lady's accessories, sipping tea and reminiscing of when they were young girls.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good morning everyone,

Happy Valentine's Day to you all! This year My Miniature World will be celebrating it's very first Valentine's Day since it's opening. Frankly I am not the type of person that celebrates Valentine's Day for the simple reason I believe that love should be celebrated everyday throughout the year. 

In Regent Street we have a few couples that made it official. I am sure that romance will blossom more eventually. 

Finally Sir Edwin Barrett and Miss Leah have officially declared themselves as a couple.

Miss Leah's older sister Miss Quelina has been seeing Mr. Edgard Hevey. Quite a cute couple.

 My favorite couple in Regent Street are the two love birds in The Master Swordsman Pub & Inn. The Bar tender Larkin and the sweet barmaid Susanna. Larkin has proposed to Susanna on the day.

Apart from Regent Street, My Miniature World has a new couple. I am so looking forward to start the new project of Pembroke Grange, even if for the time being it is on hold. Her is Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. 

The two dolls have been dressed up in Regency Style and Mr. Darcy is the splitting image of Colin Firth in Pride & Prejudice.

A big thank you goes to my favorite doll maker Beverly Senatore who makes my lovely dolls. Thank you Beverly for making my projects more alive.

Celebrating the New Year at The Master Swordsman Pub & Inn

Hello Everyone,

Tonight down at Regent Street there's a New Year's Celebration. Mr. Edwin Barret wanted to throw a party marking the first welcoming of the New Year in Regent Street.

Sir Edwin invited most of the gentlemen that visit the Master Swordsman Pub & Inn on regular bases. His best friend Edgar was there like always at his table. Mr. Fletcher decided to join the men and found an empty seat near Edgar. 

Mr. Joseph Rookie from J.R. Art Gallery decided to join in. Miss Reeva  offered to look after Heather for the night as she didn't have any plans of her own. A girl's night would be great. She wanted to have a tea party with yummy cakes that she got from Manuel at the Coffee Corner. He made special cakes just for little Heather. 

Mr John Corbett, the jolly gentleman decided to join Mr Rookie for the evening, Like always he had so much to say. 

Sir Edwin, tried to keep up with all his guests thanks to his staff. Finally he sat with Mr. Ivor discussing business over a pack of playing cards.

Madam Barrett had plans of her own. She invited the ladies to her parlour. Her daughter Miss Roslyn helped her to organize the evening. Mrs. Perkins, the guest at the inn joined in with the ladies. Miss Leah from Miss Leah's Boutique was invited and also her older sister Quelina from Matquel's Antiques & China Shop.  Miss Ella came along and felt very welcomed to be part of the friendly neighborhood of Regent Street.

The ladies enjoyed gossiping and played all sorts of games until the time came to join the men and welcome the New Year together.

Very Happy New Year 2019

Have to run now and dress up for the evening. I don't want to miss the Party at the Master Swordsman Pub & Inn.

Miss Leah's Boutique once again makes it in print!

Hello everyone.

How are you all? Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Spring is here and it's time for me to stretch and wake up from my hibernation. Lol!... yes that is exactly how I feel all Winter. I have been very, very busy. My Miniature World Shop has been keeping me very busy. We have some new miniatures and books that you might like to see. Still whilte being busy I still try to fit in my hobby. I will not let anything interfere with my hobby time and so in a couple of days I will be sharing with you the bathroom for The Woodcutters' Cottage.

I am pleased to tell you that once again Miss Leah's Boutique makes it in print on the Dollshouse World Magazine April 2017 issue.

Miss Leah will always hold a special place in my heart for so many reasons.

The article is spread on three  full pages with lots of nice shots of the Boutique.

Sometimes I wonder to myself "What makes this dolls house more special?" I never really fully understood why I feel that way about it and I can't fully understand why I love Miss Leah so much. You all think that Miss Leah has a connection to my youngest daughter Leah and yes it is a part of it but still there is so much more. 

Only recently I figured out why Miss Leah's Boutique is so special. When I first started building it, it never crossed my mind that it would turn out the way it did. I always knew that it would be part of my Regent Street which  had to go along with the street of shops. I remember that for some reason I held the project on hold for some months even if I was fully aware of what I wanted. I knew I was confident enough to start it but still I backed away from it. I was passing through a rough patch in my life. Actually it was a rough patch that had to be fought by myself alone. A hurdle to overcome without any help from my loved ones. I couldn't bare myself to remain in the shadows of self doubt, of not having pride in my work and of not accepting that I was capable of what I know too well today. This project was my inner challenge which I pulled through with flying colors. I knew that Miss Leah's Boutique would be the turning point in my life. The turning point of how I saw my work. Miss Leah helped me through out the project to have pride in my work to be confident and to actually believe that I could reach my goal. The stories that came with Miss Leah only proved to me that a dream with perseverance and faith in ones ability could actually turn in to reality. Even if Miss Leah's Diary was written by me I never felt that way about me or my ability in the miniature world. Once Miss Leah was done all my doubtfulness vanished and nowadays I see myself more positively. So many things have changed to the better since the boutique and all my graduate goes to my dear Miss Leah for helping to see myself clearer and in a complete different light. 

So as you can see the hobby has actually helped me to be proud of myself and to accept who I am. Yes I finally can say I am a Miniaturist Artist without thinking twice.

A few are probably asking if Miss Leah will return. Or if there will be any additions to Regent Street.  My answer is a definite YES. There is no doubt about that.

Regent Street already has Matquel's Antiques and China Shop, Little Angels Toy Shop, The Coffee Corner and Le Forge. I already have some great ideas and shops for the street and yes I already have the kits which will be part of it. 

I am really hoping to start working on a new project in Regent Street as soon as I finish the Woodcutter's Cottage or more likely as soon as I have the big move to the new premises. I already have some new additional characters and I am working on some story lines for Miss Leah.

And here they are.

Down in Regent Street two new residents arrived. They dropped by at Miss Leah's Boutique. The young blond beautiful lady is interested in new attire. While the handsome gentleman has eyes only for the lovely Miss Leah. Who could they be??? Where did they come from??? What is their business around here???? 

Regent Street is getting busier and busier. Pretty Miss Violet a new resident had an early appointment with Miss Leah for a fitting. During the fitting they spoke about a lot of things; books, theater, the people and the eligible bachelors. For a brief moment Miss Leah's thoughts drifted to the young handsome gentleman that visited her just a few days ago. Who could he be? ...

Miss Quelina was running late to open the Antique Shop. She had just dropped by at the Boutique to check on her little Sister Leah. As soon as she was out of the door she bumped into a stranger. With a friendly grin the gentleman greeted her and stepped aside for her to pass. Quelina blushed and apologized. Why was she blushing for? Was it because for a second she acted unladylike? Was it because the stranger was a young handsome fellow?

There is so much that still needs to be done but it is a beginning. Having the characters in mind can make the project so much easier and more enjoyable.

Miss Leah's Boutique makes it on print!

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Here in Malta although the days are still slightly warm during the evening, it is getting chilly and I have been busy organizing our wardrobes for the change of the weather. Somehow even if it is still November, Christmas is in the air.

I am pleased to say that My Miniature World Group on Facebook has reached over 500 members and it is just great to see others posting and sharing their creations. I want to thank you all for being such an amazing bunch. I also want to thank our Face Book fans as My Miniature World on our face book page has reached over 12,000 likes. Thank you for all the encouragement. 

It has been almost a year since Miss Leah's Boutique was complete and it gives me great pleasure and pride to say that Miss Leah's Boutique made it on print on the Dollhouse Miniatures Magazine issue 48.

It has been such a wonderful experience making Miss Leah's and I enjoyed every minute of it. It brings with it so many memories and exciting moments. Miss Leah has really gotten used to Regent Street and she can't imagine not being part of it. 

We also have a new movie of Miss Leah's Boutique which you can see below.

There will be more shops added to Regent Street and we will also be having more adventures. I am sure that Miss Leah will be involved some way or another and to give you a little peep of what we will be waiting for the next year I want to present to you  Miss Quelina.

Miss Quelina

Who has followed Miss Leah's diary will know too well who Quelina is. Quelina is Leah's sister who has been with her every step since Leah moved to Regent Street. Quelina is another lovely doll made by the amazing Beverly (Beverly - Designer - Dolls). Quelina owns Matquel's Antiques & China Shop with their brother Matty.

Quelina came without a hat so I have decided to make a matching hat myself just for her and it fitted in so well.

The good news is that if everything goes as planned next year Quelina will be renovating Matquel's Antiques & China Shop. One of my lovely projects that I can't wait to transform. Most of the renovation will be done on the outside. I will be changing just a little from the inside and adding more miniatures. I am really excited about that.

So in the mean time Quelina will be staying with her sister Leah.
