Garden Furniture in Pickett Hill

Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend. Summer is here and hopefully it is here to stay. The kids are at their final weeks at school before their big summer break. I am spending some time studying with them for the final exams. I can't wait to spend the summer with them. It is the best time of the year when I get to spend all day with them. 

It was quite a busy weekend and very productive. Apart from giving most of my attention to my dear boy Matthias, I got to make a few new miniatures, finished off most of my orders and helped my husband Gilbert in the new premises. It is getting very exciting as now we are almost at the end. I will be sharing with you some pictures of it when it is done. 

Today I will be sharing with you a few new 1:48 scale furniture pieces that I built for Pickett Hill. I have to admit I love it but still it is not my favorite scale. I have worked a bit on the garden furniture and I was surprised to see so many pieces 

The kits are so cute as every piece of furniture contains a story about Miss Lydia and the actual piece I would be working on. Finally I got to paint Miss Lydia and yes Miss Lydia is the cute dog.

To me she looks like a cocker spaniel so I painted her in black and white.

Miss Lydia has quite a lovely dog house. I am really pleased how it turned out.

I have also did the Very Tall Porch Bench and the not so tall one. They are really cute.

Then I have completed the Alfresco Table with it's animal chairs the pig chair, the roster chair, the sheep chair and the cow chair. Also there is the matching serving table.

Finally I have finished off the courting bench with it's little tables and accessories.

So this is all for today. Tomorrow I will be celebrating my birthday so there is a big chance that this week we will be having another free giveaway. Even if I love this project I miss working on my 12th scale projects. So I am preparing to work on a new room box. Hopefully I would be able to share with you what I have in mind. Pickett Hill - The Arts and Crafts

Good morning everyone,

How are you? Hope you all had a great weekend. Busy like always and the more we get closer to the move of my dolls houses in there in home the more tiring and slow it gets. For the time being I am boxing up all my dolls house accessories and furniture that I have never used for my dolls house project.  It is unbelievable that the final details are the most crucial. I am so looking forward to summer and I am hoping that we will soon settle this for a well deserved break. Before I start I wanted to welcome two new followers of my Blog; Val and Polyakova. Welcome!

I have been really thinking about a new project and like I said before it is just not wise to start if at this stage. Very tempted to start another project in Regent Street but I know for a fact that I won't be giving my 100% to it. So I put my foot down and decided to just work on  the materials for the project and in the mean time I might work on a room box. Thinking about it, I might as well continue on my 1:48th Scale dolls hose Pickett Hill. I never work full time on that scale but in moments like this it does fill in the pleasure of the hobby.

The Arts and Crafts furniture

At the moment I am just enjoying building the furniture kits. I am truly amazed with the detail of the Arts and Crafts room furniture and it's accessories just thinking how tiny these are.

I started of with the Artist's Storage Cabinet which will be covering the back wall of the room. It is such a sweet detailed piece of furniture and it also has the smallest sewing machine.

From all the pieces that I have made for this house, I have to admit I loved building the Artist's Worktable and Art Supplies. It was the most detailed and complex piece that I have made so far. All the paint brushes are made by me using polymer clay. The little paints and accessories are just pretty amazing. I enjoyed every bit of it and for the final result.....well you can see it for yourself.

With the Artist's Work table I have also made the Artist's Easel & stool. Another detail piece that fits so well with the table. I have also made the paint brushes myself with polymer clay,.

I also made two more pieces which most probably will be fitting in the entrance hall of the Pickett Hall house.  The cute Apothecary Chest and the Reading Nook.

Adding more to Pickett Hill

Hello everyone,

Another start of a new weekend. As usual I am busy as ever and I'm getting the hang of having the kids all to myself at home. They are quite demanding but I wouldn't have it any differently. It is quite hot like all our summers but no heat waves so far. Today I wanted to welcome 4 new followers to my blog; Dog-Ma, Yolanda Moran, Marie Gravnar and Mindy Winchester. WELCOME! 

As you can see now we have the official My Miniature World Logo which is featured in our sites. I hope you like it.

Today I will be sharing with you some more of my new additions to Pickett Hill which is a 1:48 scale project. I am taking it really, really slow but I am enjoying it. I have continued building the furniture kits to get a hang of the scale and now I have started assembling windows and doors of the house. There are so many tiny fine pieces but I am no rush to finish. 

I have ordered some Led lights for it as the lights have to be fixed in while building the house. I also want to introduce you to the Pickett Family. These 1:48 scale dolls where made by the amazing doll maker Susan Esmell. They where commissioned for me as I wanted to make a whole family. We have Mr. and Mrs. Pickett. Master Robbie and Miss Emma.

I have also continued building some furniture kits. They are very tiny, detailed and so precise.

Some of these kits are for the sitting/living area and dining.

Here we have the day bed and the grand father clock. They are really sweet and each kit comes with a story on every piece of furniture.

I also built the coop and the little side table. These will be placed in the dining area.

I also built the lovely detailed writing desk and chair.

I have also tried my hand with some polymer clay pieces in 1:48 scale. It is not easy as they are so tiny. I have made two plants in pots so they can go with the Wardian Case.

There is also the plate wall shelf. The plates within the kit where made out of paper and it was something which didn't look realistic as I wished. So I made the plates and bowls with polymer clay.

 I also built the lamp shade table kit. Which came with the tiny lamp shade, books and glasses. We also have the occasional coffee table. The kit is so cute and you can change the face of the table with any festive season like Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentine etc etc. It also has a little box with buckles where memories are kept like postcards and photos.

Finally I have painted the little arm chair and La-Dee-Da the cat. These are made out of resin. I have also draped a little blanket on the arm chair.
