Posy The Tiny Bear has Her Own Blog

Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend. May is almost over and with that my favorite months of the year are approaching and obviously my favorite season; Summer!. It's already getting warmer and I just love it. At least to me, it gives me energy.

Today I just wanted to tell you that my darling, sweet Posy has her own Blog, Posy The Tiny Bear

The posts are back dated from the day she arrived last October. From time to time there will be new posts with her activities with me in My Miniature World and obviously lots of pictures.

Everyone seems to find the tiny bear cute and adorable so I think she deserves to stand alone in the spotlight. She is quite excited so make sure to keep tuned to her posts at her blog.

New blog post on the Master Swordsman Pub & Inn coming soon!

Take Care and See you.

The Roof Terrace - The Master Swordsman Pub & Inn

Hello everyone,

How are you? Hope you all had a great weekend. During this weekend I have managed to work a bit more on the project The Master Swordsman Pub & Inn. I can say that the outside of the project is at it's final stages and now, after it's done, I can focus more on the inside details of the pub and inn.

The Roof Terrace
The roof terrace was the last area to be finished. This is the first dolls house that I have with a roof terrace.

So I started off by passing the electricity of the lower room through the flooring of the terrace.

Then I wall papered the walls of the small room and also did the flooring.

As the room is not really accessible, I had to add all the details and furniture pieces to the room before placing the front.

I am pleased with the little room and I'm sure it will look lovely once the wall lights are lit.

With the room complete, I started paving the floor tiles of the terrace.

Once the flooring was done, I started working on the roof. For some reason I didn't really like the roof. as I wanted to add roof slates. So I changed the roof by adding cardboard and added the roof slates to the cardboard which turned out to be very sturdy.

The original roof

Once the roof slates were done and ready, I painted them and also weathered the whole roof.

There is still a few more details that I want to add to the terrace, maybe a couple of garden furniture pieces and a few plants.

And here's how it looks like so far

And here is a picture of the whole building.

This is all for today. I hope you like it. Can't wait to get the front of the building in place. Keep tuned for the next update on this project.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Adding more to the Parlour - The Master Swordsman Pub & Inn

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all fine and that the week is treating you well. So far I can't complain. It's been busy like always, but just took a couple of days off from the office, so I'm hoping that I will get to do some more extra work. Before I start I wanted to welcome a new follower to the blog. Welcome Arantza Martin!

During the past two weeks I have continued working on the Parlour. There is still so much to do and so much to add.

The Parlour in The Master Swordsman Pub & Inn.
The first thing I started working on was the banister railing around the opening of the staircase. The kit itself came with a very low wall which I didn't really like. The room itself looked quite rich and the wall just didn't fit in.

So I got myself some bare wood banister rail that I cut to fit around the opening of the staircase.  I sanded it down to make it look more even.

As the flooring had marble tiles, I wanted that the chunky banister railing looked more like stone or marble. I didn't know how to go about it, so very patiently I hand painted it with a marble effect. It took me hours to finish but the final results were worth the time.

I then started working on the glass of the door. I didn't want it to be just clear glass so I decided to have it with a decorative stained glass. I looked for a Victorian stained glass pattern which would blend in nicely with the wall paper of the room.  It was quite challenging but like always, it was worth the effort.

As I wanted to add a fireplace to the room, I built the fire place surround and wallpapered it.

Still the fireplace needed a few more details so I weathered it, painted its details with golden shadings. Using polymer clay, I have also  made a small wall plaque with the letter "M" and added it to the front of the fireplace.

I was quite happy with the room. It took me a while to finish the cornice in the ceiling and the skirting all around. When those were complete, I started adding pieces of furniture to see how they fit in the room. Whatever pieces I added, they didn't give me what I was looking for.

I came across these cardboard miniature furniture kits by Melissa Miniatures. I had them for months but never used them. They didn't even cross my mind to use them for this project but they definitely fitted in nicely.  So I painted the kits and upholstered them with a very fine olive green stripe pattern that blended well with the room.

I also got Posy's approval of the set.

I added a few accessories and other pieces just to have an idea of the room. The latest piece was the Edison Style Phonograph which my father hand painted for me for this project. The details of it is amazing.

I can't wait to work further on this room. Here are a few pictures of how the room looks like so far.

Hope you like what I have done so far. There is so much that I still need to add and most probably even change in this room, but so far it's look good. Keep tuned for the next update on The Master Swordsman Pub and Inn.

Take Care and See You Soon.

J.R. Art Gallery featured on the American Miniaturist Magazine

Hello everyone,

Another weekend has gone by and here we are in the beginning of the month of May. I hope you all had a great weekend. Like always I have been busy working on my project and other miniature work.

Today, for the month of May, I am really proud to say that J.R. Art Gallery is featured on May's issue of the American Miniaturist magazine.

J.R. Art Gallery
After the Interview by The Dolls House Emporium back in November 2017, J.R. Art Gallery had a five page article written by Deb Weissler.

I'm very pleased with the article and pictures, and Deb Weissler got to bring out some interesting details about the gallery. Here is the link for those who would like to read the  full article A Gallery Full of Miniature Art.

Going through the article it brought back some sweet memories, especially how it all began, the inspiration, adding all the paintings and obviously all the details.

Here are a few pictures, of J.R. Art Gallery.

From here once again I would like to thank my dear friend and fellow Miniaturist artist José Pereira Torrejón for the four lovely miniature paintings that he painted for me, which have inspired me to do J.R. Art Gallery. For those who would love to see some of José's amazing miniature work here is the link to his blog  Rust and Steel Miniatures.

In the article it was surprising that Deb Weissler took in every tiny detail in account.

Quote: "J.R, resides in the spacious apartment upstairs. A fireplace, an iron bed, and tables where the artist paints fill every nook and cranny. Feminine touches and a child's teddy bear propped on the bed provide hints at who shares this warm and inviting space."

Indeed they are just hints; but lately at J.R. Art Gallery there was a special guest. A young girl called Heather. She has been residing with Mr. Rookie for quite some time. Down in Regent Street everyone has been asking around who she was. Could she be the artist's daughter? There is some resemblance. Maybe a Niece? Who knows!! Here is Heather.

Heather is another doll made by doll artist Beverly Senatore. Thank you Beverly for the lovely dolls that give life to my projects. I call Heather "My sleeping girl" for she is always asleep.

Hope you have found the article interesting. I have to admit J.R. Art Gallery will always hold a special place in my heart.

This week I will also be sharing with you a new update for the present project The Master Swordsman Pub & Inn, so make sure to keep tuned.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,
