Completing most of the Tudor Manor

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. The weather is getting warmer and warmer and finally I can say that Summer is here to stay. I am thrilled about it.

Finally I can say that the Vintage Tudor Manor is pretty much done. I am really happy to see it done.

Inside the Tudor Manor
Before I continue with the Tudor Manor I want to let you know that The Dolls House and Miniature Scene UK Magazine June's Issue is out and once again The Toll House is featured in it. So for those who get their copy watch out for the article. Eventually when I will get the copy I will be posting about it

Coming back to the Tudor Manor, I have been really busy with it and I am really pleased with the out come. I have added more accessories to the house and best of all I have added lights to all the rooms.

Starting from the top left room the bathroom is all ready and done with new accessories and the additional lighting at the back wall.

The nursery which is next to the bathroom has a new hand painted miniature teddy and the lamp shade will light up.

Then the bedroom was the first room to be complete. All I added was the lights at the back wall.

The staircase was never decorated. I have printed some 1930's painting and framed them up. It definitely looks much better. I also added a barometer and added the wall lights.

The sitting room which is on the right hand side on the ground floor has a new set up and I also added some new pieces to it. I have moved around the furniture pieces and also made from scratch a 1930's style small book shelf to fit in the space near the sofa. I have also hand painted the pipe rack with pipes.

I have also hand painted a pewter miniature carpet cleaner which I have placed in the sitting room,

Like the rest of the rooms I have also added some Art Deco style wall lights to room.

The kitchen and sitting room had to have to false ceilings so I could add the ceiling lights. The dining room had a few new additions too. A napkin holder and a pewter polished cruet set.

In the kitchen apart from the lighting I also added a few hand painted miniatures to the scene.

So I guess, this is pretty much it. I still have to connect the lighting. make curtains for all the rooms and maybe add a few miniatures. I can't believe that I actually finished it. I am really lucky to have one of the first prototype dolls house built by Adam Purser and decorated by Jackie Lee who are the founders of the Dolls House Emporium. This dolls house was one of the first dolls houses they made back in 1979. I am also happy that I have some nice and rare pieces such as the bathroom set and the washing machine in the kitchen. which make even the dolls house more special.

So this is all for today. I will be posting some pictures of it lit up with the curtains and last touches. So keep tuned for the next update.

Take Care and see you soon.

Hugs.

Adding more to the kitchen in Tudor Manor

Hello everyone,

How are you all? Hope you are having a great week. I am just thrilled. It has been a very busy week for me and I am really looking forward for Sunday. My Raquel has a very special day and I am doing my best to make it perfect.

Also Hopefully by the end of next week I will be sharing with you some good news that I have up my sleeve. Cross fingers everything will go as according and if so I will be having an extremely busy summer.

Before I continue I also wanted to let you know that on 15th June 2016 Moi Ali a book writer that also writes articles on the Dolls House Miniaturist Magazine will be releasing her new book called Dolls' Houses A History and Collector's Guide.

I am proud to say that two of my dolls houses The Tudor Manor and Butterfly Cottage are featured in this book.
At the moment you can pre-order this book from Amazon.

Coming back to My Miniature World. I have been working a bit slowly on the kitchen in The Tudor Manor. I have been busy.....what new?.... but I have lots to share with you.

1930's kitchen in Tudor Manor
I have added some more to it and I am really pleased how it is turning out.

Instead of making one as planned, I finally managed to get one of these miniature 1930's washing machine. Even better I have found this vintage washing machine brand new in its' original box by the American Miniatures. I was very lucky to find it not only because it was new but even at a very good price.

Being such a small kitchen you have to be very careful what to add. Even the slightest accessory if not placed properly it would definitely look odd.

I am trying my hand at hand painting my own miniatures, or at least I have been having lessons from my father. I guess he is teaching me the trade.

I have added a mincer, a 1920's spring scales, a few tinned food that I have labelled from the 1930's, the bread tin, the mop and bucket. I am really pleased how they turned out.

I still need to add more to the room but I think it looks just right.

Here are some more pictures.

Lights will be added to the room and a few more details around the table. But I think it is looking good so far.

So this is all for today. Keep tuned for the next update on The Tudor Manor.

Take Care and see you soon.

Hugs,

Rose Cottage - Another Vintage Dolls House

Hello my dear friends,

How are you all? Hope you are having a blissful weekend. On the whole everything seems pretty much the same. The weather though is just not what I am hoping for. It's May and we're suppose to have sunshine and warmth, but it seems that as we didn't get a real Winter and it barely rained, now we are having strong winds and rain. I am telling you Mother Nature is playing some wired tricks on us.

Before starting I wanted to welcome a new follower to our blog. Welcome Kaos Krew! I am also pleased to say that we have reached over 730 members in My Miniature World Group on Facebook.

Today unfortunately I won't be sharing the update on The Tudor Manor but I am really excited to share with you my new dolls house. Ladies and gentlemen I am pleased to present Rose Cottage.

Rose Cottage
This is another jewel added to my crown collection of the Dolls House Emporium dolls houses. Rose Cottage is another vintage dolls house which goes back to the 1980's. When Rose Cottage was out in the market it was the smallest dolls house they offered. It is three roomed, spacious and has a good size.

Rose Cottage was perfect for a beginner or just to be added to your collection. Here is a picture of it from a Dolls House Emporium Catalog. In this picture there is my dear friend Amy Purser and both her younger sisters with a family friend.

I can't believe that I have actually found one of these in such a good condition.

The previous owner must have loved this dolls house dearly but some how she felt that she had to part from it. I promised her that it would be cherished and loved. I told her that it will be part of quite a big collection.

Finally last Wednesday it arrived safely with all it's accessories and furniture.  As I predicated the dolls house was loved and looked after. For it's age it is what I call immaculate.

The previous owner had decorated it quite nicely. Very classical and just right for the small dolls house.

Here are some pictures of how she had decorated it.

I am also glad that she also kept the original name of the dolls house Rose Cottage. As you can see there is a name plaque by  the door.

Name Plaque
As the dolls house included the furniture and accessories I have fell in love with some very nice pieces that came with it.

It also came with the two dolls. I am quite unfamiliar with these. There faces seem to be made out of fabric and their features are painted. I have never seen anything like them. If anyone has some information please enlighten me.

For the time being I won't be doing anything to it. I will be renovating it a bit, most likely refreshing it. I will keep the Classical Victorian look. I already have some good ideas what I want for it. As the house never came with a staircase there is a good chance that I will be adding some interior fake doors on the back walls just to give the illusion that it leads to a stair case. I will be adding real lights and some curtains. Most probably I will be changing a few pieces of the furniture.

I can't bare seeing a dolls house empty. So this is how I have decorated it with a few of the same pieces of furniture and accessories. I have also added some nursery furniture on the top room.

Most probably I will start working on it after summer time. As soon as I am done with Tudor Manor, I am hoping to start some renovation works on The Summer House. Knowing me, by that time I would have changed my mind on the style and how I would like to decorate it.

Before closing this post today, as here in Malta we are celebrating Mother's Day. I wish all mothers, mothers to be and wonderful ladies who love and give as much as a mother a Wonderful Mother's Day.  I wish you my dear friends the best.

So this is all for today. I really hope that next time we'll meet I will be sharing a new update on Tudor's Manor unless something else crops up. So keep tuned for more.

Take care and see you soon.

Hugs,
