1970's Turn Table

 Hello Everyone,

How are you all? Hope you are having a great week.

I wanted to share with you a small miniature that I made last weekend. As you all know, Tina Turner passed away a week ago.  A woman that I totally admired not only for her music but for her strength and perseverance. No matter what she passed through, no matter the odds, she never gave up on her dreams and goals. A legend that will live forever.

As a kid I always had Tina's music going on through my father's turn table. I remember him pulling out long plays and very carefully setting them on the turn table and pressing the play button. The shiny vinyl record starts to turn while the needle finds its place. I remember the crackling sound as soon as the needle is placed on the record and then just half a second later beautiful music was played.  It used to fascinate me.

So I decided to make a turn table with a set of speakers and a few long-play records. I 3d printed it. Added a few more details of my own and painted it.

I have to say I am very proud of it.

I hope you like it.  So far it hasn't found a place in any of my dollhouses but I am sure that eventually it will be in a future project.

This is all for today. Make sure to keep tuned for the next updates and latest news.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,

The Delft Blue Project on the Dollshouse Nederland Magazine

 Hello Everyone,

How are you all? Hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend. I have been busy as usual but looking forward to work on a new miniature.

I have some exciting news to share with you today.  The Delft Blue Project was featured in a four page article in the latest issue of The Dollshouse Nederland Dutch Magazine for May and June.  I am also very proud to have the same project on the cover of the Magazine.

The article is in Dutch Delfts Blauw however I have it translated in English for you to read. Here is the link Delft Blue

I am very pleased with the article. A big thank you goes to Rika Van Nellestijn for the opportunity to share my work. Rika also organizes the amazing Dollshouse Nederland Show that happens in Arnhem in The Netherlands and I am so looking forward to go in October 2023.

Here are some photos of the Delft Blue Project.

This is all for today. Hope you like the article. Make sure to keep tuned for the next updates.

Wishing you all a happy weekend.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,

Sherlock Holmes Day

 Hello Everyone,

How are you all? Hope you are well and that you had a great weekend. I know, I haven't been around as this month the kids decided to take my everything, my life and even the little time that I have for myself. It doesn't happen often. Actually, I don't even recall ever going through what I went through this month but it's fine. After all, they come first.  Priorities! What can you do? So my apologies on their behalf.

Today we are celebrating Sherlock Holmes Day. Never thought that there was such a day, Sherlock Holmes Day is an annual celebration, marked on the birthday of its creator May 22nd.

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective created by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Holmes is known for his proficiency with observation, deduction, forensic science and logical reasoning that borders on the fantastic,  which he employs when investigating cases for a wide variety of clients, including Scotland Yard.

First appearing in print in 1887's was 'A Study in Scarlet'.  Most of the novels are set in the Victorian or Edwardian eras between 1880 and 1914 and are narrated by the character of Holmes's friend and biographer Dr. John H. Wastson, who usually accompanies Holmes during his investigations and often share quarters with him at the address of 221B Baker Street, London.

Three objects that are intimately associated with the enduring image of Sherlock Holmes are the curved pipe, the magnifying glass and the deerstalker cap.

I have read a few books of Sherlock Holmes which I totally love and I thought it was a good idea to set up a miniature setting of his desk.

I hope you will like it.

This is all for today. Make sure to keep tuned for the next update and news.

Take Care and See You Soon.
