My Miniature World on The DollsHouse World Magazine

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend. I am a bit under the weather so I stopped by to post a quick update.

In the beginning of the new year, in the latest issue of  The DollsHouse World UK magazine you will find an amazing article about My Miniature World Museum.

The wonderful article was written by Sandra Harding. You can read the article Rebecca opens museum to house her collection by clicking here

I can't believe that it has been over a year now since I opened My Miniature World museum for the public. The collection keeps on growing and now there are over 28 dolls house projects.

I spend my evening working on my dolls house projects and miniatures in my workshop which makes part of the museum.

Its been over 23 years since I started with this hobby which now is more than a passion and till today I still can't believe that I have achieved so much.

Hope you enjoy the article. Will be updating you soon with the progress of my ongoing projects.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,

Completing 'The Physician' - Part 3 on Life & Style

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great weekend. It's been quite busy here as always.

A fortnight ago, I am pleased to say that I completed 'The Physician' project and I am so happy how it turned out.

I have added some new additions to 'The Physician' that makes it look extra special and extra realistic.

One of my hand made miniatures that I made was the doctor's scales and I am really thrilled how it turned out. I used all sorts of things to makes this; from cardboard to metal pieces.

The Doctor's Scales
Another piece that I built from a kit and painted was the Victorian radiator which has fitted nicely in the room.

Just before Christmas I received a wonderful gift from my dearest friend and fellow miniaturist José Pereira Torrejón. He sculptured a skull and made a miniature journal with his sketches to put on the doctor's desk.  You can also visit his Rust and Steel Miniatures Blog to see more detailed pictures.

I have decorated the desk with some of my mini prints and a 3D printed bust of Dr. Charles Darwin.

Additional to that, José also gifted me with this beautiful miniature wheel chair which was made by the Dutch Artist Mr. Han Goergen. Such a beautiful piece. I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Han Goergen last year in March when I went to the DHNS in Arnhem.

Mr. Goergen was also kind enough to send me a small gift of his own which are the pair of miniature crutches to go with the wheel chair.

From here I would like to thank José and Mr. Han Goergen for these wonderful miniatures. They have fitted perfectly in the room.

I decorated the wall with a shelf that I made and added a few books and jars to it. On the same wall you will find Victorian Anatomy illustrations that I printed as well.

Right above the desk I added two printed framed canvases. One has a portrait of a young Charles Darwin painted by Richmond George in 1840. and the other is a painting by Rembrandt called The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicholaes Tulp dated 1632.

The book shelf was moved at the back so the inside details can be seen better.

Finally our handsome doctor came to his clinic. Dr Keller. Another wonderful doll made by my dear friend and doll maker Beverely Senatore.

The time came when I had to share the complete project with presenter Charles Saliba on the 'Life & Style' Tv Show on the Maltese Channel NET TV.

Here are the TV clips where I share the progress of this project.

Charles Saliba & I
Here are some photos of the complete room.

As 'The Physician' is the second part of the whole project, it was time for it to go in its place, right on top of the Apothecary - Druggist 'Cures & Remedies'.

I hope you like what I have done so far. Tomorrow I will be sharing the start of the new room on 'Life & Style' TV show, which will go right on top of 'The Physician' project. The new project will be called 'The Patient'.  Make sure to keep tuned for the next updates.

Take Care & See You Soon.

Sophia and The Pop-Up Books

Hello Everyone,

How are you all? Hope you had a good weekend. Here we are again back to the old grinder, working on miniatures and new projects.

Today I wanted to share with you a small project that I have worked on during my short holidays.  The Two Miniature Pop-Up Books.

Mr. Dickens thought of adding more to his book shop during Christmas time. He wanted to add something completely different that children would love. He added two Pop-Up Books.

Mr. Dickens was inspired by his neighbor Lady Adelaide, 'The Miniaturist' to get these pop up books. One is called 'Dolls' House' which he was sure that Lady Adelaide would love to have and being in the Christmas season he got another called 'Merry Christmas'

Both books came as a flat kit format and I enjoyed making them. The end results are so impressive especially considering the small size of them.

The 'Dolls House' Book is built to have two floors and the whole book has eight rooms.

The 'Merry Christmas' book is much smaller than The 'Dolls' House' book and it has four Christmasy Rooms.

Here is a small video that I made to show how these cute pop-up books open.

The second Mr. Dickens put these books in the Dickens Book Shop window, a young girl entered the shop to have a closer look at them.

Miss Sophia, a beauty made by my dear friend and doll maker Beverley Senatore. Sophia hasn't made any appearances in Regent Street yet but she was keen to play the part in this story. I wonder where she'll fit in Regent Street. Keep an eye out for her because I am sure that her time will come to shine.

Miss Sophia fell head over heals in love with the 'Merry Christmas' pop-up book. She definitely looks happy and proud to have it. Mr. Dickens was so pleased with himself that he got these books that he's quite sure that he will be getting more different ones.

That is all for today. I hope you like these new pop-up books. Make sure to keep tuned for the next updates as I have so much to share with you.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,

So that was a wrap up for 2019.  A few would ask what' next for 2020? There are quite a few plans I have to say, a few of them are more certain than others. So let's go for the certain ones.

Will decorate and complete Pembroke Grange, hopefully in a couple of months and definitely before Summer.

Will continue working on the Project  The Apothecary 'Cures & Remedies', 'The Physician' and 'The Patient' on the 'Life & Style' TV Show. There will definitely be another ongoing project after this.

In Summer right after Pembroke Grange is done I will start working on the new Project 'Le Château' which came all the way from Germany last month. It was a lovely gift from my friend Micheal Mursano.

Posy and I will be travelling once again to The Netherlands in March for the  Dollshouse Nederland show in Arnhem and again in October for the Big Event Dollshouses, Dolls and Teddies Show in Hetogenbosch. Both of us are so looking forward to those.

So that it all. Let' hope that it will be another great year of dolls house projects, and miniature creations.

Make sure to keep tuned for the next updates. I have so much to share.

Take Care and See You Soon.
