National Ice Cream Day

Hello Everyone,

How are you all? Hope you have enjoyed your weekend. Here in Malta Summer is blooming and with it we get the heat. 

Today it's National Ice Cream Day. Ice Cream is so refreshing and yummy and keeps us cool especially now that we are in Summer. 

I have made a few polymer clay miniature ice cream cones for the occasion. 

Manuel from The Coffee Corner Shop found good use for them and decided to hand them out to the children in Regent Street.

9th Day of Christmas - Visiting The Coffee Corner

 Hello Everyone,

"On The Twelve Days of Christmas, Miss Holly will be visiting Regent Street to bring joy and wonder during the magical time of Christmas. "

Waking up to a rainy day on Sunday morning, Miss Holly decided to stay indoors keep warm and enjoy her kitchen while baking scrumptious goodies for Christmas. Her favorite were the Christmas Puddings and fruit cakes. 

As the afternoon passed, and the rain halted, she decided to go to her favorite coffee shop for a hot chocolate.   Manuel was a perfectionist when it came to his delicious pastries and cakes. He offered a variety of coffees and his hot chocolate was the best in town.  Before she left she decided to take one of her freshly baked Christmas Cakes that she just finished decorating.

The Coffee Corner was a very small shop and most of the time it got overwhelmed with crowds that want to be served. Thankfully today, it wasn't the case. The people decided to stay indoors because of the rain.  There was only Manuel and Mr. Thorton one of regulars that visited the shop.

Miss Holly stepped inside and the shop smelled of cinnamon and coffee.  She sat on one of the stools and presented the Christmas Cake to Manuel.  She knew that Manuel did better cakes than she did but she was sure that he would enjoy it just as much.

Manuel was so pleased and thankful to Miss Holly for being so thoughtful. He asked her what did she like to have. Miss Holly with a smile replied with the usual; a piece of 'Black Forest' and a Hot Chocolate with cream to go with it. 

Manuel was quick to server the young lady and told her that today it was on the house. She thanked him for his generosity.  The rain started to pour again but Holly was happy as can be looking outside of the window, being warm and cosy with her yummy hot chocolate and cake.

That is all for today.  Tomorrow Miss Holly has quite the task to visit 'Matquel's Antiques & China Shop', so make sure to keep tuned.

The Coffee Corner makes it in Print on American Miniaturist!

Hello everyone,

How are you my dear friends? I hope you all had a very nice weekend. It is has been a great week indeed, busy like always and very productive. My Miniature World Shop at etsy has been doing extremely well. We have a new range of miniature Easter ceramics coming up and we are working on a new set of Children's books. I am also excited as tomorrow I will be meeting the lovely British artist Susan Fay of Elite Petite Interiors.

I am also proud to say that The Coffee Corner has made in print on the American Miniaturist Magazine on the March 2016 Issue.

For those who haven't seen it The Coffee Corner is a small Victorian shop set up in my Regent Street and is placed next to Quelina's shop Matquel Antiques & China Shop. The Coffee Corner has a 4 page article which you can read here by clicking on this link A coffee shop For The Senses

The little shop is another Dolls House Emporium discontinued kit. I just love it and there is so much to see. I have added lots of details to it. All the ceramics have been decorated with the Shops logo that I made. All cakes and pastries have been made by me with polymer clay. They are my first cakes ever and I am just thrilled to have them in the shop. I also have some of my father's hand painted miniatures like the gramophone, the weights and the cash register.

Some how it has a very special place in my heart but than again which dolls house hasn't? Here are some pictures of The Coffee Corner

Finishing The Coffee Corner!

Hello my dear friends,

I hope you all a great weekend. I can't believe that we are at the end of July. Time does fly. I also wanted to welcome a new follower and friend to my blog Lars Mikkelsen. WELCOME! He is a fantastic miniature craft's man especially in wood turnings and furniture and he has a lovely shop at Etsy called Built In Wood.

Today I will be sharing with you the final stages of The Coffee Shop. I have added the last few additions and now I am so thrilled that it is complete. It has taken me a while to finish the room box but it was worth the effort.

So I wanted you all to meet Mr. Thornton. Mr. Thornton is one of the regular clients of The Coffee Corner. Rain or shine Mr. Thornton goes to the shop for the same cuppa and his slice of chocolate fudge cake at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Manuel and Mr. Thornton have become good pals over the years. They enjoy a chat over the news paper or the neighborhood's gossip. There was a day or two when Mr. Thornton didn't show up in the morning when he was ill but Manuel was kind enough to take his scrumptious goodies at the Thornton residence and have his daily chat with his old friend.

Mr. Thornton was made especially for me too and he is a one of a kind. He has fitted in perfectly and I love his expression. He is in his early 60's and quite jolly.

I have made some print outs for the setting which I have designed. I have made some small menus with the shop's logo. I am really pleased how they turned out. I also added another poster of the shop's offered coffee and a small notice on the door.

I was also busy adding more accessories to every part of the room especially on the side table and shelves. I tried to add what really fits in the scene. The ceramic cups where filled with liquid polymerclay and I am pleased how they filled up the empty spaces.

Well I guess that is all and this completes my coffee shop. Here are some pictures of the complete shop.

I will miss this project like I always miss the rest of the finished projects. I have really tried to add detail to it as much as possible and I think I quite succeeded. Today The Coffee Corner is now placed next to my 'Matquel's Antiques & China Shop' which they look great together.

More Additions to The Coffee Corner Shop

Hello my dear friends,

I hope everyone is all right and enjoying their summer. I have just came back from my vacation I had with my family. We took a Mediterranean cruise and it was just grand. I enjoyed spending some quality time with the kids and my husband and in the same time a wonderful break from the everyday life. Unfortunately there is always an end but I am happy to be back home and back to my miniature world.

Beth Sammarino from Spain contacted me and I am pleased to say that she has received it and is enjoying her prize. Don't lose heart folks very soon I will be giving another give away. I also wanted to welcome a few more followers of my blog. A big welcome goes to Stacy, Sharon, Emma, Narina, Angeles Malu and Rosella WELCOME! I wanted to thank all of you and those who follow on Face Book. We have over 100 followers on my blog and over 200 followers on Face Book. This means so much to me and it is so encouraging. I never imagined that wonderful folks like you will enjoy my creations and miniatures. THANK YOU SO MUCH! from the depth of my heart. 

Today I will be sharing with you some more additions that I have been adding to my Coffee Corner Shop. I am really enjoying this project even if it is just a one room. It seems like I can't stop myself from adding more little details.

I have finally decorated the shop bay windows. There isn't much I could add. I have made some more pastries out of polymer clay and made a pair of tire cake stands for the window setting.

I have also added an old coffee machine and some teapots to the window. I actually like the Queen Victoria Tea Pot and also the Big Ben tea pot. Some how they fitted well. And here are some pics of both the windows.

I also added some more touches inside the shop. Underneath the dresser I have placed some sacks filled with sugar, coffee and tea which I have made. The coffee and tea are filled with real crushed coffee and cinnamon.  I like the smell of coffee and cinnamon blended in together and I am really pleased that this project does have that pleasant smell of a real coffee shop.

I have also added more pastries on a 3 tire cake stand which I have placed on the counter and added some more accessories

The final miniatures that I added where the bar stools which are to be placed in the shop. Both these stools have been built and hand painted by my father. They have blended in well with the rest of the furniture and I am really thrilled with them.

I hope you like what I have made so far. There is still a little bit more that I want to add but I am pretty sure that by next week the shop will be ready and will be moving to another project.
