Hello everyone,
How are you all? Sorry for not posting any sooner but my family and I were on vacation. We went to to the lovely island of Sicily. It was nice, hot and sunny. We have visited some beautiful places. I just wanted to say a quick hello before I get myself busy once again with my dolls houses and miniatures. There will be lots of new miniatures coming up soon and I have quite a list of new miniature readable books being prepared. I have finished all of the stories of Raggedy Ann and there are 12 books in all. You can all find them in My Miniature World Shop at etsy
Just a day before we left for Sicily the New Book by author Moi Ali arrived which is called Dolls' Houses: A History and Collector's Guide. It had the perfect timing so I took it with me and read it through my holiday.
It is really interesting and there are so many wonderful dolls houses to see. Moi Ali captured most of the Vintage Dolls houses and quite some antiques. The book contains a brief history of Dolls' Houses and Miniatures, Principal Dolls' House manufactures, Starting or Extending a Collection, Protecting, Displaying and Renovating your Collection and Where to See Miniatures.
Moi Ali has made quite a research and there are quite a few who contributed to the book. I am very proud to say that I am one of them.
Yes I am proud that two dolls houses from my collection have been featured in this book which are Butterfly Cottage and Tudor Manor. As most of my dolls houses are from the Dolls House Emporium here is the section.
I have had Butterfly Cottage for over 5 years now. It was a Surprise Christmas Present from my husband. A very rare dolls house by the Dolls House Emporium. It never came in kit form as it is made from resin which was hand made and hand painted.
Here are some pictures of it.
Also my crown jewel the Tudor Manor. I am very very lucky to have this dolls house. As you might know my Tudor Manor was one of the first prototype Adam Purser had built. It was built in 1979 and it was one of the first 2 dolls house designs that the Dolls House Emporium had. At that time The Dolls House Emporium had a different name which was Tudor Models. My Tudor Manor was built by Adam Purser and decorated by Jackie Lee founders of the Dolls House Emporium. I am really pleased that last month I have completed decorating it.
The Chimney also was hand built by Adam purser and is numbered and marked T M for Tudor Models.
And here it is in it's full glory
Moi Ali has made a fantastic job of the whole book. I wish her all the success as she really deserves it. So this is all for today. Hopefully I will be posting by the end of the week. I really hope to work some more on the renovation of the Summer House. So keep tuned for more.
Take Care and see you soon.
Hugs,
Rebecca xxxx

Thank you so much Elizabeth. Yes You are right I am always with a book especially if I go on vacation and it is even better because it is all about dolls houses.
DeleteHow lovely to see our friend Rebecca featured so respectfully in this important book. I did enjoy learning about her two really beautiful older houses from the early days of Dolls House Emporium. A well deserved place in dolls house history. xx
