Paint works inside the Bloom & Blossom Florist

Hello my dear friends,

How time flies. Today is the last day of January 2014. It seems like yesterday that we where actually celebrating the entrance of the New Year. Finally I have settled back to work and it has not been easy to find my daily mini time. The weather hasn't helped at all being gloomy and so damp. I also wanted to welcome a new follower to my blog, my dear friend Denise. Welcome!

Today I will be sharing with you some work that I have been adding to the florist shop. I finally got to choose the wall paper for the room and I added a false door at the back which I have painted.

Wallpapering and false door.
I wasn't sure what I wanted as in furniture for this shop. So I got myself some bare wood furniture and painted it myself. As the furniture was painted in white I have highlighted the edges with some green paint which fitted in perfect.

The back shelves and counter have also been decorated with printed paper which I have designed to match the florist signs. They fitted in quite well.

I also had to cover the ceiling with appropriate paper as the ceiling was brown and there was a small whole for a ladder. So I choose a thick embossed white paper and it fitted in perfectly for a ceiling.

There is still so much that needs to be added to the shop especially flowers and plants. I had a couple of flowers and filled up some shelves. I have also gotten myself the three step shop display and painted it to match with the rest of the furniture.

I am really pleased with the out come so far although I haven't even started with what I have planned for it. Hope you like what I have done. Here is the picture of how the room looks like so far.

I also wanted to let you know that my 8th miniature downloadable book is now available. It is called The Book of the Flower Fairies where you find quite a selection with information and illustration about the Flower Fairies. The Book of the Flower Fairies.

I have also added some new miniatures at My Miniature World Shop which I have made.

Take care and see you soon.

The New Project - The Bloom & Blossom Florist

Hello my dear friends,

It has been a while since I posted. I was quite busy as I returned back to work last week after working for 4 years as a full time mum. It wasn't easy especially leaving little Leah but so far I am managing. I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend.

The Toll House is still not finished and I am still working on it but like I promised, today I will be sharing with you my new project which is called the 'Bloom & Blossom Florist'. This is another Dolls House Emporium kit. The only difference in this kit is actually a kit meant for children to play with and not for the collector. I couldn't resist the price. The Dolls House Emporium where selling this kit for only Euro 20, which was a total bargain.

It is a nice two room kit which was actually called the Mary Beth's Village Store. I have firstly built the kit which was very easy. I think even the children could have built it without any problems or glue.

Inside the property
The first thing that had to go was the girlish pink windows and signs. It looks so much like a toy and I definitely had to change the name of the shop. I have designed the shop sign on the computer for the florist shop and painted the windows and signs with a turquoise color and blended in some white shades. I was happy how the colors turned out which matched the shop signs perfectly.

After finishing most of the paint of the frontage I had some extra roof tiles and decided to use them for the front porch. I have also painted and dirtied them to give the roof a weathered look.

I was very happy with the out come and it doesn't look childish at all. Then I started working on the front. I darkened slightly the out side floor and added a front step. I have also made some paper climbing flowers on each side of the door. I had a bare wood wheel barrow which I painted and made some paper roses to decorate the inside of it. Most florist have flowers outside for sale so it just fitted in perfectly.

Finally I added some little lace trimming inside the windows and I can say that the front is practically ready. I might add some more flowers at the end but I am really pleased with it. And this is how it looks like at the moment.

I hope you have liked what I have done so far to this new project.

I also wanted to remind you that there are some new miniatures at my Etsy shop and don't forget January's free gift offers.

Do keep tuned for more updates of this new dolls house.

Take Care and see you soon.

Santa's Work Shop makes it to the Print.

Hello my dear friends,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and started your New Year with bliss. I have spent my Christmas and the start of the New Year like always with my family. I think it is the best way and I just love it.  Now we will start a new fresh page with this new year which brings a new project and more to come.

Before sharing with you the new project and the continuation of my Toll House I just wanted to share with you that an article on my Santa's Work Shop was published on February's 2014 issue of the Dolls House and Miniature Scene UK Magazine.

I was really happy to see my Santa's Work Shop in print. Here is the article for you to read. Santa's Work Shop article

I have built it just in time for Christmas of 2012. This dolls house remains one of my favorite and brings so many sweet memories. This year I have added one little miniature that I made myself to it. I had this little nativity set for years but never really got to use it as some how it looked so out of place or something was missing to it. This year I decided to actually built the surrounding for it. I have made it out of wood and used some modelling moss for it.

I was really happy how it all turned out. I wanted it in the right project and the best dolls house was my Santa's Work Shop in Santa's Quarters. I might change the table and even it's position but so far here it is.

I hope you all like it.

I also wanted to let you know that for the month of January 2014 a free gift will be given with all orders from My Miniature World Shop at Etsy.  (the purchases of Downloadable books are not included in the offer).

I also have some new ceramic items available too. My Miniature World Shop
