Completing Felicia's Bedroom at Le Château

Hello everyone,

How are you all? Hope you had a great weekend. Finally I got to work on my project Le Château and I completed Felicia's Bedroom.

I added a few more pieces to the room. One of the furniture pieces that I  did was the wardrobe to match with the room.

Another piece was the small side table with drawer and I decorated it with a washing basin and jug.

I kept the dolls house in the corner as it suits the room quite well. Here you can see a closeup of it both from the outside and inside.

Felicia now has her own pup called Lune.

Felicia has an old toy horse that she used to play with when she was a bit younger. She could never part from it. The tiny horse was made by the Dutch Artist Mr. Han Goergen. Mr. Goergen had given me the tiny horse as a gift when I visited The Netherlands in March 2020 during the DHNS in Arnhem.

Felicia also has a tiny doll called Esmée that was made by the Spanish artist Victoria Heredia Guerbo. The tiny doll has her own tiny day bed which was given to me as a gift from a very dear friend.

And here is Felicia. I think Felicia is quite happy with her bedroom.

Here are some more photos of the complete room.

I have to say this must be my favorite room so far in  this project. I hope you like it just as much.

Make sure to keep tuned for the next update on Le Château.

The German Moritz Gottschalk 1930's Dolls House.

 Hello everyone,

Hope you are all well. It's been a while since my last blog post. I have been extremely busy with work and  in the meantime I also visited The Netherlands.

Apart from a luggage full of miniatures I also brought with me a lovely German Moritz Gottschalk  1930's dollshouse.

The second I saw it, I fell in love with it. It's quite pretty old and for it age it is still in a very good condition.

Every room is floored and wall papered. The windows are all glass and I love the staircase.

It was quite a challenge to travel with it back to Malta but my very dearest friend packed it up so well and took care of everything. It arrived safely and I couldn't be more happy to have it.

I can't wait to decorate it.  Maybe Posy will decide to move into this one.

This is all for today and I can't wait to share more of my progress and updates.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,

The Mouse House - Gee Bee DH8 Tudor Cottage

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all well and doing fine.  I have been working further on my ongoing project 'Le Chateau' and have so much to show you.  But today I am going to share with you a side project that I will be working on in the next few weeks.

In January, a very dear friend, gave me as a gift; this sweet vintage Gee Bee DH8 Tudor Cottage which I will name it, 'The Mouse House'.

The Gee Bee DH8 Tudor Cottage appeared in their catalog back in 1964 and there has been quite a few versions of this tiny cottages.  From what I could find, my Tudor Cottage was one of the earliest versions.

This little dwelling has quite a history and from what I could understand, it had already two masters before my friend had it. Unfortunately somewhere along the way the poor little thing wasn't left in it's original state and was painted over.

The little house was wall papered with scrap book paper. It has a missing door and the missing metal stair case which I will be replacing some way on another.

The house itself should have been a 1:16 scale but being so small I think I can also add a 1:24 scale furniture and accessories.

The Residents of The Mouse House have already arrived. The two mice will be quite busy fixing up their new home.

I have to say I do have a soft spot for this little cottage, not only because it was gift from a very dear friend,  but because of the fact that the cottage and I had quite an adventure, the second that it was handed down to me.  Last January I had the opportunity to travel to The Netherlands once again and while being there, my dear friend gave me the little cottage to take with me back home. It was quite challenging and I wasn't sure if I would succeed. I wanted the little cottage to travel with me as hand luggage  being so fragile. It passed check-in, It passed security-check and also passed the boarding check. The little cottage sat on the empty seat next to me without any problem and arrived in Malta safe and sound in one piece.

I am so looking forward to work on this side project. So make sure to keep tuned for the next updates.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Continuing Working on Felicia's Bedroom!

 Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend. We had strong winds for the past few days so I enjoyed my weekend working on Felicia's Bedroom.

I was all set to start working on the bed which was to fit the alcove in the wall. The bed was designed and built from scratch by me to fit the alcove.

The bedding was  also done by me with matching, cushions,  pelmet and curtains for the alcove.

Once I have completed it. I have made a few frames to be fixed to the back wall.

I also printed another frame and added a print of a girl's antique painting to put on top of the fireplace.

Do you remember when the Miniaturist, Lady Adelaide from Regent Street built the dolls house 'Le Maison de Ville' for a French noble gentleman? Well here it is for his daughter Felicia.

I still need to add more pieces of furniture to the room and accessories but I have to say I am very proud how it turned out.

Hope you like the progress of Felicia's bedroom so far. Make sure to keep tuned for the next update.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,

Started working on Felicia's Bedroom at Le Château

 Hello Everyone,

How are you all? Hope you are fine and doing well. Today I am excited to share with you more progress on my ongoing project Le Château. I started working on Felicia's Bedroom during the weekend. Felicia is the young miss that will live at Le Château.

I started off working with the back wall where I added an alcove for the bed to fit in eventually.

I added a fireplace on the left hand side of the room which I made myself.

I printed one of my own ceiling roses and hand painted it to match the room.

Finally I added the wall panels that were made to measure to fit the walls. This is how Felicia's room looks like so far.

I have started adding a few pieces of my own furniture and I can't wait to finish the bed.

This is how the house looks like so far.

I hope you like how my project is turning out. Make sure to keep tuned for the next update on Le Château.

Take Care and See You Soon.

Hugs,
