Little Angel's Toy Shop

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are well. Here in Malta it's getting pretty warmer even if in the past few days it has been a bit windy and chilly in the evening.

Today I will be sharing with you one of my latest projects. It was hand crafted and built by myself with some  help from my husband Gilbert. Little Angel's Toy Shop was copied from a Dolls House Emporium discontinued designs called M. Poppin Toys.

I have used the same measurements  of the original shop and drew it on a MDF sheet. Obviously Gilbert not allowing me to use anything sharp and afraid that I might get hurt, cut the wood for me.

I have built it and bought some dolls house building accessories for the whole project. The only difficulty that I came across was the shop sign. When I said I wanted a copy of the original Toy shop I truly meant it. Saw I drew the design, cut the wood and trimmed it with air dry clay to match the original shop's sign. 

I had also tried my hand with brick tiles for the walls and the roof slates which I'm very pleased with the results.

Decorating the inside was as easy and as fun as usual.  I have printed some cherubs and stuck them up on the ceiling of the shop. I have purchased bear wood furniture so I could paint it and decorate it the way that I like it.

The fun part came along when placing the toys and boxes in their places on the shelves. I have also built and decorated a made to measure small table myself for the little dolls house  that I had purchased for the shop and it just fitted the scene perfectly.

More Polymer Clay Minis

Hi Folks,


Firstly I would like to thank you all for your kind comments and encouragement. It means a lot to me and I also would like to welcome the new followers of my Blog. It is good to know that there are persons that find my miniatures interesting.


  Yesterday I finally finished some more polymer clay minis. This is getting very addictive and I hope to slow down a bit as I still have an unfinished dolls house to complete. Hopefully I wish to complete it before the baby arrives and that will be somewhere around 10th September.


 I have done a working bed side table lamp for my Chestnuts dolls house. I have placed it in the guest's room bedroom as the room didn't have enough light.

I have also made a plate stand where I have decorated it with a golden rim, golden decorations and small pink roses. I have also made a pyramid of chocolate profiteroles (my favorite) to put on the stand. I haven't stuck the profiteroles on the stand as I didn't want to cover the plate's decoration. So far I have put them in Butterfly Cottage which is almost ready.

I'm pleased with the out come even if I am pretty sure that there is a lot of room for improvement. I tried to start with the easy miniatures but my eyes always fall on the most difficult items or for the most advanced but I think I have managed.

My First Polymer Clay minis

 Hello Everyone,


It's been a while since I wrote on my blog. I have been quite busy preparing for the new baby before the heat of summer starts and hits me hard.


I have done so much today! And I'm really over the moon. I have been dying to start my hands with polymer Clay only that I was just afraid that I don't have it in me or that I will end up burning the whole oven while baking. I had tried some items with air dry clay but this polymer clay had always fascinated me.

Anyway months ago I had bought myself some polymer clay and tools to start off only that I never did begin. Today I built up some courage and put my hands to work.

My Sea View (Lake View) sitting room's coffee table looked a bit empty so I thought I would make some accessories for it. I have marbles white and red polymer clay and started with a modern vase, made another vase that I filled up with flowers and a small bowl that I filled up with real sea shells. 

For a first timer I think I did pretty well, even do I'm quite sure that I'm very green at it. The baking went to perfection which I'm very happy with.

Any way. Here they are my first master pieces with polymer clay. I hope you like them.

The Runaway Room in Sea View

Hello everyone,

Today I will be sharing with you the last room of my Sea View dolls house. This room is situated on top of the bedroom. I have turned this room in a recreational section where one can escape from everything or everyone to relax, read a book, hear music, browse the internet or spy outside. Most of the furniture I had purchased from Elf. The books, box files, CDs, magazines and paper folders have been done me.

Sea View - Part 3

Hi Folks,

Hope you are all feeling fine. I think I'm getting back my mojo for miniatures. Haven't done much but it's definitely a start.

Today I will be sharing with you the third floor of my Sea View dolls house. Here you will find the main bed room and bathroom.

The Main Bedroom

I had done some modifications to the wall between the bedroom and the bathroom as the opening was to wide and as I was having a bathroom I wanted some privacy. I have also added a door which I modified myself too. Instead of leaving the door in a classical way. I removed most of the wood and added frosted plastic to give it a modern look. Most of the furniture in this room is from the Dolls House Emporium. I have elevated the bed with a split level which I edged with mirror plastic. I have also made a modern mirror decoration on top of the bed. The bedding for the bed was sewn by myself.

I have made a modern sculpture out of clay and added to this room. I have beaded some silver wiring and added like a floral decoration for the vase of the dresser.  I'm quite pleased with the outcome of this room. Too bad that I don't live in it. I have added some of the same carpeting on the stair case.


Another thing that I wanted to point out that the spiral staircase through out the house didn't have a handrail. So very patiently I had cut some perspex in small rectangles and stuck them to each stair to form a whole glass handrail.

The bathroom was my nightmare. I like spacious bathrooms and to my dismay for this house the bathroom was small. To make things worse I realized that the floor of the bathroom was very low and once the door seemed to be up in the air. I was trying to imagine myself going in the bathroom and the only thing that came to my mind was me falling face down. So I created a few step and a split level with the same carpeting from the bedroom. Then another problem cropped up as the split level took quite some space and I was trying to make a shower and a bathtub in this little bathroom. Once again thanks to Elizabeth from ELF she helped me choose the right accessories for the bathroom.

I have designed most of the bathroom and added rice bulbs in the vanity section and shower. It was very difficult to see where to put the vanity, toilet and the bath but I think finally I got it right. The vanity was something that I totally built (which means that there was no kit for it). I found a Grecian vase that fitted this room perfectly as the tiles of the bathroom are mosaic. I have made most of the bottled perfumes and soaps myself with beads.  It reminds me a lot of a Roman Bath.

I think the bathroom is my favorite room of this dolls house. I hope you all like it as much as I do.

I'm back to continue where I have left off! Sea View

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been around at all! SHAME ON ME!!!! I am so sorry for letting you down. I haven't been myself at all in these past months. Well being pregnant for the third time takes quite a toll and my first three months are my worst months of the whole pregnancy.  I'm in my 15th week (almost 4 months) and I'm feeling much better. I guess the good whether of our sunny Malta gives me a boost.

Unfortunately it's not just the blog that I have abandoned but most of my dolls houses and miniatures. Hopefully I hope to do some mini's before the  baby comes.

Well I'm here to continue where I have left off which is my 5th dolls house Sea View. Today I will be sharing with you my living / dining  area and the kitchen.

The living and dining area

This section of the house was quite a headache to do as I wanted to have a good sized modern kitchen. As the room for the kitchen was a bit small for my likes I added a split level in the kitchen area so the flooring for the kitchen will be a bit bigger and also to distinguish the floor itself. Also I had another problem. It was difficult to find a ready made kitchen to fit this room.

I was on the verge of tears until I discovered ELF. Elf is a company which is into modern miniatures and kits made to measure to fit whatever room you want. For this particular dolls house ELF was my salvation.  Elizabeth from Elf  is the best. She was very helpful and patient with me. After 100 of emails sent to each other, together we have created my perfect kitchen for this room. I'm very proud to say that I am the first Maltese to ever purchase from ELF and I don't have regrets. In fact I have also got myself the bathroom, accessories and furniture for this house from Elf which I will be sharing with you very soon.

 The instructions for the kitchen kit where simple to follow and everything fitted in perfect. I would like to say a big Thank You to Elizabeth for always being there to help out in any difficulty. The kitchens look very realistic that sometimes you wonder if you are looking at a miniature photo or a real sized photo. 

Between the living/dining room and kitchen I have built a glass block wall which is very fashionable in a modern set up. I have used square cut, clear beads to built this wall. It fitted in perfectly. The paintings on the wall are print out and I have shaped them to make modern art, All wall shelves have been built by myself. And I have tried my hand at polymer clay and have created shrimp cocktails in the salad bowls on the dining table. I'm still green at it but practice makes perfect. Here are more photos for you to see.

Sea View - My 5th Dolls House

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all fine. It has been a while since my last post. I haven't been well myself. I want to thank you all for your comments on my Toll House and I also would like to welcome the new followers of my blog.

Today I will be sharing with you one of my latest projects that I have completed last October. This is a Dolls House Emporium kit which it's original name was Lake View. As I live very close to the sea, I decided to call it Sea View.

The Entrance

It was quite a challenge to complete as I am more comfortable in building periodic dolls houses than modern ones. Today I will be sharing with you the Entrance and the Sitting room which are the first rooms.

For the entrance I wanted something totally different and I wanted it to have a feeling of Zen and peace. So I have built a wall with three opening in it. I wanted something grand for this room so I added a water feature with small stones around which I have managed to add even lights to it. To keep it a place of peace I found 6 laughing Buddhas which fitted in perfectly.

I was quite pleased with it's outcome. The sitting room had to compliment the entrance to I have added a split level and added marble edging to distinguish where the split level is.  I have built a modern fireplace myself to continue with the split level. Around the fire place I have added the same stone decoration that I used for the water feature.  To this room I gave it a touch from Africa and it really suited it well. I found a small wooden sculpture that fitted the scene to perfection.
